Salwa is currently working as a Project Manager for Climatekos. Her education and professional experience provide her with a strong technical background in climate change mitigation & adaptation for the waste, energy and industrial sectors. She has approximately 5 years of experience in climate action.

 

Salwa worked on climate adaptation projects in Mediterranean countries on integrated flood management in urban, rural and coastal areas.  There, she also took part in several cross-sectorial mitigation and adaptation climate change projects. They include tracking finance for fossil fuel subsidies in the MENA region and African French-speaking countries, as well as developing a carbon neutral mobility in selected Mediterranean countries.

Her work in climate finance includes the development of GCF concept notes and proposals for cross-sectorial climate action projects and programmes in Africa and the MENA region and estimating climate finance gaps for countries to reach their NDCs targets. More precisely, her work includes the development of climate-smart urban investment plans and funding proposals for water and wastewater management projects.  She can speak fluent French, Arabic, English and has a good command of German.
